Liberia: Former Foreign Minister Ngafuan Congratulates President-elect Boakai

by independentprobe

IPNEWS: Former Liberian Foreign Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan has formerly congratulated President-elect, former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for winning the Presidential Runoff Election.

Ambassador Boakai had won the runoff race against President George Manneh Weah. Even though the National Elections Commission (NEC) is yet to formally announce the winner of the November 14, 2023 Presidential Runoff Election, President Weah had called Boakai and congratulated him for winning, because the numbers that have been announced by the NEC put the former Vice President way head of the incumbent and it’s impossible, mathematically to surpass Boakai’s lead.

Congratulating his “Uncle”, Mr. Ngafuan, who is the African Development Bank (AfDB) Uganda County Manager, wrote on his Facebook page: “It was a long, bumpy road to VICTORY, but you kept your eyes on the prize and never once lost faith in God’s promise to take you to the PROMISED LAND.”

“Heartfelt congratulations to you, AMB. JOSEPH NYUMA BOAKAI on your election as the next PRESIDENT OF LIBERIA!!!”

He reminded the President-elect that as he embarks on the mission to heal, unite, and develop the Motherland, “it is my ardent prayer that the Almighty God will give you the STRENGTH OF SAMSON mixed with the WISDOM OF SOLOMON.”

Ngafuan, who also served as Finance Minister for Liberia, also had some pleasant words for the President. “I also extend thanks to President George Manneh Weah for mustering the strength to concede.

“Our dear country, Liberia, has emerged from this difficult process as a shining example of democracy in West Africa, Africa, and the world!!!”

He concluded his congratulatory message by taking a stroll down memory lane with few pictures of him and the President-elect, both of whom hail from the northern Lofa County.

The pictures date back from 2008 thru 2017.
