IPNEWS: Liberia’s President Joseph N. Boakai, at the head of a 26-member delegation traveled to the United States on Saturday, May 4, 2024, to attend the U. S. -Africa Business Summit.
The United States–Africa Leaders’ Summit 2014 is an international summit firstly held in Washington D.C. from August 4–6, 2014. Leaders from fifty African states attended the three-day summit, which was hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama. The summit primarily focused on trade, investment and security of the continent.
Upon arrival to the United States, President Boakai will serve as guest of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), also held by this year’s organizers of the U.S.-Africa Business Summit that begins May 6-9, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
The 2024, summit is under the theme “Partnering for Sustainable Success.”
Eight African heads of state/government have confirmed their participation in the upcoming 2024 U. S.- Africa Business Summit including Liberia.
H.E. Joseph Boakai, President, Republic of Liberia, H.E. Lazarus Chakwera, President, Republic of Malawi, H.E. Joao Lourenço, President, Republic of Angola, H.E. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi, President, Republic of Botswana, H.E. José Maria Neves, President, Republic of Cabo Verde, H.E. Kashim Shettima, Vice President, Republic of Nigeria, Hon. Nthomeng Majara, Deputy Prime Minister, Kingdom of Lesotho
Hon. David Sengeh, Chief Minister, Republic of Sierra Leone.
The summit will bring together over 1,500 U.S. and African public and private sector executives including Heads of State, international investors, U.S. and African government officials, and multilateral stakeholders.
Sixteen Ministerial African Delegations are also expected to join the 16th edition of the U.S.-Africa Business Summit: Angola, Botswana, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Senegal, Togo, Gambia, and Zambia.
